The University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons faced the De La Salle University Green Archers in the UAAP Season 82 men's basketball tournament last Wednesday, September 25.

Among hundreds of fans at the Mall of Asia Arena, showbiz personality Jackie Forster stood out to watch and show support to her son, Kobe Paras, who is playing for the Fighting Maroons.

"My heart was racing the whole game!" Jackie wrote on Instagram a day after Kobe led the Fighting Maroon's 72-71 win over the Green Archers.

"Talk about #UPFight and can I just say it's so hard as a mom to watch other kids get so gigil with your son, it's so physical!"

Kobe led UP with 21 points but Juan Gomez de Liaño sealed the win with a triple with 7.8 seconds left in the game.

After the victory, Jackie admitted that she is now happy because Kobe found his home in UP.

Before playing for the Fighting Maroons, Kobe lived in the United States while transferring to three different colleges.

Kobe originally signed to play for the University of California, Los Angeles, but later withdrew after failing to meet the school's academic requirements.

He then transferred to Creighton University but after one season, he announced on Twitter that he would be joining the California State University, Northridge.

"Before he was here, he was not sure on what he wanted to do. Now you know he is in a place where he wants to be," Jackie told tiebreakertimes.com.

"He is more decisive of where he is at right now.

“Hindi naman puwedeng ikaw ang mag-decision, but this whole last twenty months has been a growing up phase for him.”

Jackie also noted, "I am glad that he found his family in UP.”

Meanwhile, on her Instagram post, Jackie promised not to be reserved when she watches her son again in the most-awaited UP-Ateneo match on Sunday, September 29.
