Kapuso singer Mark Bautista paid tribute to his late father Darni Bautista, six days after he passed away on January 23.

In a series of Instagram photos posted on Thursday, January 30, Mark promised his dad that he will continue to make him proud.

He wrote, “Guide me Pops! Will continue to make you proud… We love you... I know di mo kami lahat pababayaan… Keep smiling up there!”

Mark confirmed the news of his father's passing through an Instagram post.

He wrote, “My mom called my brother this morning, January 23, 2020," Mark wrote.

"My brother woke me up in my room and said Mama was crying because Papa was in the hospital and was non-responsive.

"I started to feel anxious. For my Mom to cry like that, it could only mean something."

Mark then booked a flight to Cagayan de Oro, before her sister broke the news that their father has passed away.

"It was the longest trip I've ever taken in my entire life," he said.

"[My sister] broke the news and confirmed that papa was already gone.

"Her voice was shaking. My brother and I broke down.

"No words, just tears. It was too heavy to take."

Mark also looked back at the life of his father, who had survived 12 heart attacks.

"I'd like to think that my father's life is already a blessing," he shared.

"Maybe this is already God's full extension of his life since this is already his 12th attack.

"God has spared him so many times, and maybe his time is already up.

"God can only do so much. We have to let go and accept everything."
