“Someone is turning 9 in 2 weeks!!!”

This is what actress Bettinna Carlos said on Instagram as she reminisced their special moments together as her daughter, Gummy, as she turns 9 years old.

The post was accompanied by a series of photos from Bettinna's pregnancy up to the present where she and her daughter celebrated the release of her book “Heartbreaks & Breakthroughs.”

Gummy will be celebrating her 9th birthday on March 7.

Early February, the actress and published author couldn't help but feel at awe of her daughter when she posted a video of Gummy effortlessly taking on the Tala dance challenge.

She wrote on Facebook, “Dear anak, paano kita naging anak?!

“Hay nako! You bring nothing but pure joy to my life, my love @gummybites7”

Single parent

Back in 2018, Bettinna opened up about balancing her work and career as a single parent to her growing daughter.

“I'm a cross between lenient and authoritative,” she confessed.

“I'm the kind of mom who always believes in letting your children grow. Kasi, I was raised that way. Lahat ng interests ko, my parents supported.

“Kasi they wanted to expose me to more things as many as possible. Then, kung saan nila nakita 'yung interest ko, they encourage me to pursue.

“With Gummy, it's the same thing.”

She then explained that it's very important for her to encourage Gummy's interests so that it helps her development.

“As a parent, it's important that you don't limit the interest of your child.

“As much as possible, you expose them to a lot of things kasi you don't know yet what they're good at and what God has for them also.

“I have really learned to protect and let go. Let go, let them explore.”
