Kris Aquino reveals Kuya Josh's nationalistic side

By Cara Emmeline Garcia

The idea of nationalism seems to run in the family for the Aquinos as Kris Aquino shares that her eldest son, Kuya Josh, loves to sing the Philippine National Anthem.

In an Instagram post made yesterday, June 4, the Queen of All Media told her fans that during the quarantine, Kuya Josh has the habit of listening to “Lupang Hinirang” between 7:30 to 8 am.

She said, “Every day in Puerto Galera, between 7:30 to 8 AM, Kuya Josh would insist that we all had to view the 'Lupang Hinirang' music video, stand with our right hand above our hearts, sabayan ang pagkanta ng National Anthem and face the open sea.”

This little quirk gave Kris the idea to put a very nationalistic themed birthday party for her eldest son.

“I decided to make Kuya's lunch (na kami-kami lang naman sa house) themed around the colors of our flag.”

She even jested, “P.S. I included the pics where Kuya covered my face and the balloons covered him --- mahirap talagang mag-picture kapag ang panganay ay lagpas 6'2” at 'yung mama 5'3” lang.”

A healthier Kris
In the comments section of the said post, a netizen commented that the host has naturally gained her normal weight back by saying, “You gained weight po? It looks good on you.”

Kris happily replied, “The fresh air did my body a lot of good. Hindi na ako mukhang maputlang sickly.

“And, I started eating breakfast because nakibagay: maagang gumigising and maagang natutulog. Plus, being away from it all, I got to focus on my wellness and I read more than 45 books.”

When another fan suggested she lists down all the books she's read during her two-month quarantine, Kris happily obliged.

The Queen of All Media has read mostly fiction books by James Patterson like “Blindside,” “Never, Never,” “The House of Kennedy,” and “Injustice.”

She also said she read a few self-help books but decided not to give the titles away so the public would not put meaning behind it.

“I'm not including the self-help books I read because you might put more meaning into it than there really is and sometimes it's okay to keep some mystery about me.”
