Mika Dela Cruz gives update on her father's health: 'I was so broken'
Kapuso actress Mika Dela Cruz gave an update about her father's health condition, Tuesday night, June 30.
In her latest Instagram post, Mika shared that her father is still in the hospital getting treatments.
“June 21, I experienced one of the most fearful things a child could ever go through, the fear of losing my father. I almost went crazy the first few days after finding out. I couldn't stop crying and I couldn't sleep. I had migraines 24/7, I couldn't stop thinking of him.
“And after a few days, I realized the fear was gone because. Finally started to lift everything up to Him. I put my full trust and faith in Him,” she said.

Along with the announcement is Mika's cover of the worship song “What A Beautiful Name,” which she said is part of her new passion project on YouTube.
“I can recall the night we were called to the hospital. The only thing keeping me calm is singing worship songs on repeat. I was so broken and to be honest, I still am. At this point, I still don't know what's going to happen to my daddy but I am now at peace.
“I am thinking positively and I am filled with hope. I can't wait to witness God's miracles and with all the realizations I've had lately, I finally had the courage to pursue this passion project of mine!
“I will be starting this new series on my YouTube channel and will be posting worship songs Tuesdays, 6PM! I started with this favorite of mine, 'What a beautiful name' by Hillsong,” she added.
Mika then encouraged individuals facing the same situation to not give up and hold on to their faith that everything will be fine.
“I hope this inspires you and I hope this gives you the comfort you need that if you're also going through a tough time, if you are on the verge of giving up, surrender everything to Him. Hold on to your faith because when everything else fails it is really the only thing we have,” she said.

It was learned that her father Ernie Dela Cruz was rushed to the hospital on June 21 due to health issues. Her older sister Angelika Dela Cruz also confirmed this on Instagram.
