Vanessa Matsunaga talks about 'mom guilt' on Instagram

By Aedrianne Acar

For all the hardworking moms out there, do you sometimes feel that what you are doing for your kids is not enough?

This is a topic that model Vanessa Matsunaga, Daniel Matsunaga's sister, discussed on her Instagram post.

Vanessa, who has two wonderful children with photographer/businessman Jun Sunga, looked back on the days before she gave birth to her baby David.

On her Instagram post, the model mom admitted that she had a “small crisis” that she won't be able to give her daughter Isabella her full attention.

She wrote, “One of my biggest fears when I found out we were going to have a second baby, was to not be able to give undivided attention to Bella.

“I had a small crisis before David was born, out of anxiety and fear of maybe not being enough. I have always been a person that will give my everything or beat myself up for not doing so...(that's true for all areas of my life.) Little things like a photo, such as this one, would make me question my parenting.”

Vanessa went on to say that for all her fellow moms who are struggling with “mom guilt,” they should remember that they are the best person to take care of their kids.

“Time has passed and by the grace of God, I feel much more confident having two kids, much more forgiving to myself as well. Parenting is a journey where we will find ourselves having to forgive ourselves in order to accomplish greater heights.

“If you are struggling with mom guilt, please take a deep breath and remember that you were chosen to be the parent of your kid/s and no one can do better by your kid/s than you.

“Try to relax, rewind, and get back to what you do best...being a super mom. Much love.”

Vanessa gave birth to her daughter Bella on March 11, 2016, and welcomed her baby boy David two years later.

The Matsunaga family recently got stranded in a beach in Batangas, when the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) was implemented back in March.
