Dianne Medina, Rodjun Cruz share experiences as first-time parents

Couple Dianne Medina and Rodjun Cruz are still adapting to their new roles as first-time parents to Rodolfo Joaquin Diego Ilustre III or Baby Joaquin.

In an interview with Unang Hirit on Tuesday, September 22, Dianne and Rodjun related they were greatly thankful for Baby Joaquin even though his birth came amid pandemic.

“We are very thankful and grateful to our Lord Jesus Christ for blessing us baby Joaquin despite all of the current situations that we're experiencing.

“Alam naman natin in the midst of COVID talagang nakakatakot sa first time parents,” Dianne said.

Likewise, Rodjun couldn't express into words his happiness for having Baby Joaquin.

“Sobrang saya talaga. Hindi ko ma-explain 'yung feeling. The best feeling,” he said.

The morning talk show host Lhar Santiago asked the celebrity parents about their thoughts after seeing Baby Joaquin for the first time.

Dianne said, “Nu'ng nakita ko 'yung anak namin parang hindi ko akalain na kaya mo palang magmahal sa isang tao na gano'n, unconditional love.

“Right there and then, nu'ng nakita ko siya mahal ko na siya kaagad. Excited na akong alagaan siya at ibigay lahat ng needs niya.”

Then, the actor-dancer reiterated that he cannot express into words his overwhelming joy over the birth of his son.

“Hindi ma-explain 'yung feeling. Ang daming masasayang nangyari sa buhay ko pero isa ito sa feeling na hindi ko ma-explain na sobrang saya talaga," he said.

And as part of the early stages of parenting, Rodjun said that he is trying to learn how to put diapers on baby Joaquin among other things.

“After mag-breastfeed ni Dianne, ako 'yung nagpapa-burp sa kanya.

"So siyempre, kapag nagna-nap 'yan sa akin natutulog 'yan, sa tabi ko.

“Inaral na rin natin magpalit ng diapers ni baby. Tuwing morning, nagpapaaraw naman kami. Totoong puyat is real,” he added.
