
Actress-director Laurice Guillen received a heartfelt message from daughter, Ina Feleo, for her birthday.
In an Instagram post, Ina thanked her mom and said that she wanted them to “build happy memories together.”
Ina referenced a line given by Laurice during her wedding: “I wish for you to build happy memories together, for they are the greatest treasures one can earn in this life.
“You said this at our wedding but I want this more than anything, too, with you.”
Ina's wedding with Italian Giacomo Gervasutti took place on December 1, 2020 at the Pinto Art Museum in Antipolo, Rizal.
The special occasion was witnessed by a few guests with Giacomo's family watching the occasion online and via a video app.
Ina got emotional as Laurice walked her down the aisle at the start of the ceremony.
An AB English degree holder with an MA in Communication at Ateneo de Manila University, where she also worked as a college teacher, Laurice took a television production course in 1967.
She eventually ventured into acting and has appeared in the movies Fe, Esperanza, Caridad (1974); Tinimbang Ka Ngunit Kulang (1974); Kung Mangarap Ka't Magising (1977), Nagalit ang Buwan sa Haba ng Gabi (1983), Palimos ng Pag-ibig (1986); Kung Aagawin Mo ang Lahat sa Akin (1987); and A Dangerous Life (1988), among many others.
Laurice was also seen on television, appearing in Flordeluna starring a young Janice de Belen in 1979, then GMA-7 programs Genesis (2013) and Carmela (2014).
She added another feather to her hat when she dabbled into film directing inspired by mentor Lino Brocka.
Just some of the movies directed by Laurice were Kasal (1979), Kung Ako'y Iiwan Mo (1980), Salome (1981), Magkano ang Iyong Dangal (1989), and Dahil Mahal Kita: The Dolzura Cortez Story (1993).
Laurice had won awards as a director such as Best Director and Best Screenplay, and Best Original Story at the Metro Manila Film Festival for the movies Magkano ang Iyong Dangal and Tanging Yaman.
She also bagged a Gawan Urian for Best Director for the film, Salome, in 1981.
Laurice was married to actor-comedian Johnny Delgado whose real name was Juan Marasigan Feleo.
Johnny passed away in 2009 due to lymphoma.
Laurice and Johnny were blessed with two daughters, Ana and Ina Feleo.
Laurice is currently the director of the GMA-7's drama series, Bilangin ang Bituin sa Langit, starring Nora Aunor, Mylene Dizon, and Kyline Alcantara.
