Following the announcement of their engagement, Sophie and Vin announced their pregnancy on February 14. The couple however were already expecting around June last year.

The Kapuso actress revealed that her now fiancé was still completing his self-isolation when she found out that she was pregnant and she couldn't just break the news. When they were finally reunited, they went to see a doctor to undergo a blood test and confirm their pregnancy.

Fast forward to March this year, Sophie and Vin were told that their baby has been growing big in size that the actress needed to deliver via C-section for her and their baby's health and safety.

The couple vlogged about their arrival at the hospital, highlighting the last few moments they got to be alone together before the arrival of their child.

On March 15, Sophie gave birth to their firstborn, baby Avianna Celeste Abrenica. Baby A was 55 centimeters long and weighed 9.13 pounds. Because of her size and the manner of her birth, however, she had to spend a while in the newborn intensive care unit or NICU.

Sophie explained, “Avianna has to be in the NICU 'coz they have to observe her. Kasi her oxygen levels go down and then when they did an x-ray on her lungs, parang there's still water, which they say is normal when you're caesarean kasi hindi masyado naski-squeeze 'yung baby, plus it's also normal for giant babies.”

Fortunately, it didn't take long for Baby A's vital signs to stabilize, and she was released from the NICU to be with her parents.
