Paulina Sotto shares her dream about late lolo Arturo Luz

By Aedrianne Acar

With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, many individuals who lost a family member during this period didn't have the opportunity to properly mourn them due to strict protocols being implemented to prevent the spread of the virus.

This is true for the family of visual artist Paulina Sotto, who lost her dearest Lolo Arturo Luz, National Artist for Visual Arts.

In an Instagram post last June 5, the daughter of Eat Bulaga pioneer Vic Sotto and Angela Luz talked about her process of healing after the death of a family member.

She even shared a photo of her Baby Sachi sitting beside the urn holding the ashes of her Lolo Arturo.

Paulina said, “So thankful my mom @angeleyes7889 and Tita @luisalooms let my Lolo stay with me for a few days. It's been hard not having said a proper goodbye.”

The first-time mom also shared her dream about her grandfather.

“But this morning, after his first night in our room, I dreamt that I was by his side in the hospital as he was dying. Then suddenly, to everyone's surprise, he got up and started walking again. He walked straight to me and touched the top of my head, as he would always do, then I noticed he was suddenly much younger--closer to the age he was in my mom's baby photos. Hope this means that he is now back to his best self in heaven.”

Currently, areas within the National Capital Region (NCR) including Bulacan, Cavite, Rizal, and Laguna are now under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) with restrictions. Small gatherings including wakes are now allowed but only up to 30% capacity. The local government units could decide to further expand it up to 50%.

Losing someone special is never easy, especially if it's a family member.

Let us all pay tribute and remember the memories of the relatives of some celebrities who passed away this 2021 amid the pandemic.
