By Bong Godinez

Singer Jaya is set to start on her new journey in the United States.

The singer, whose real name is Maria Luisa Ramsey Kagahastian-Gotidoc, left the Philippines with her two kids on Saturday, July 10, to relocate to the U.S.

Jaya's husband, Gary Gotidoc, left the country early this year with his son.

“Thank you Lord! Smooth flight and great in-flight service. Samahan mo pa ng mga mensahe ninyong lahat na puno ng pagmamahal, wala na akong mahihiling pa,” Jaya posted on Instagram.

Jaya's post was accompanied by a video of her family while inside a car.

She once more thanked all the greetings and well-wishes from friends and fans.

“Mahirap ang pinagdaanan namin but we focused on Jesus to get us through. Ikukwento ko unti unti ang mga ganap but for now, my heart is full of joy and gratitude,” wrote Jaya.

“Salamat sa inyo. Hala crayola na naman akey.”

Jaya rose to fame in the 90s thanks to her soulful voice and hit songs such as “Dahil Tanging Ikaw,” “Wala Na Bang Pag-ibig,” “Dahil Ba Sa Kanya,” and “Laging Naro'n Ka.”

She was a mainstay of several GMA Sunday variety shows including SOP and Party Pilipinas.

Jaya was also seen in the karaoke game show All-Star K! and Pinoy Pop Superstar.
