Bago pa man sumali sa The Clash Season 2, nanirahan na sa Qatar si Kapuso host Thea Astley kasama ang kanyang pamilya.
Noong 2018, mag-isang bumalik ng Pilipinas si Thea para sana ituloy ang pag-aaral sa Ateneo De Manila. Pero nagbago ang lahat nang sinubukan nito ang kanyang swerte sa pagsali sa The Clash, na naging daan niya para makilala sa showbiz.
Sa press interview, naging emosyonal si Thea nang balikan ang mga sandali kung bakit pinili niyang malayo sa pamilya at bumalik sa Pilipinas.
"Choice ko naman kasi to stay here and to pursue what I'm pursuing. This career, my music. And I'm just fortunate enough to have a family that supports me, who doesn't clip my wings," kwento ni Thea.
"They letting me fly even though alam ko na natatakot sila, syempre I'm only 21 and I'm here in the Philippines. I know that scary and it's also scary for me. But I think you don't grow if you just stay with your comfort zone. So definitely I really expanded as a person because of my living situation here in the Philippines," dagdag niya.
Ibinahagi rin ni Thea kung gaano kahirap na walang pamilya lalo na ngayong may pandemya.
"It's hard. Naalala ko nang unang mag-announce na magka-quarantine, magla-lockdown and I called my family and I cried because it's scary. I didn't know how long it was gonna be. I think ultimately there's always a reason for everything. And everything that I am experiencing now, I'm confident enough to say na it really has helped me to expand and become better as a person," pagbabahagi niya.
Kahit na mahirap para kay Thea na mawalay sa kanyang pamilya, buong tapang nitong hinarap ang buhay para tuparin ang mga pangarap.
"Dahil marami akong pangarap. And I want to make something of myself. I feel like I have been blessed with so much and I'm so privilege. I have a drive in me to do a lot, to achieve a lot and to bring honor to my family. To repay them for all their sacrifices, for all the support that they have been giving me," pagtatapos ni Thea.
