Ex-couple Sarah Abad and Jay Contreras reunite for daughter's birthday

Former child star Sarah Abad and her ex-husband, Kamikazee frontman Jay Contreras, warmed their followers' hearts after they were seen reunited for their daughter, Isla's 12th birthday.

As seen on their respective Instagram accounts on April 5, Sarah and Jay went on a beach trip in Zambales together with Isla and others to celebrate their youngest child's special day. The former couple also have a son named Kidlat who is four years older than Isla.

Both Sarah and Jay penned their heartfelt birthday messages for Isla in separate posts, alongside their beautiful family photos on the beach.

In her post, Sarah shared an open letter to her daughter, citing they will always be a team amid their current situation.

The actress wrote, "Dearest Isla,

"I know the past year has been hard for our family and although you don't really talk about how you feel, I know it's not easy for you. But with all the changes happening, always remember that one thing never will -- your Daddy and I will always be here for you no matter what.

"We are proud of many things about you, but what we're proudest of is how you've accepted
our situation with so much understanding, love, and maturity. We've been honest with you ever since we made the decision and you, not once, showed hatred or resentment but instead remained the loving daughter you've always been. I am amazed at how strong and resilient you've become.

"Whatever happens and whatever other people might say about us, continue to focus on yourself, goals, and dreams. We'll always be here for you, to love and support you."

For his part, Jay echoed the same sentiments about their secondborn.

"Always remember na kahit anung mangyari at kahit anung dumating nandito lang kame lagi ng Mommy mo for you, we love you so much," the musician said.

While it may look as though Sarah and Jay have already rekindled their marriage, neither of the two confirmed that they are back together.

For now, it's safe to say that they have remained friends and continued to co-parent their kids after their separation.

It was in May 2020 when Sarah confirmed her split from Jay.
