Phil Younghusband wears traditional PH clothing with wife and son for their family portrait

Filipino-British athlete Phil Younghusband showcases his love for his Filipino roots as he and his family dressed in traditional Philippine clothing for their latest family portrait.

According to the former Azkals team captain, it's their way of celebrating the country's Independence Day which annually took place on June 12.

Phil's wife, model Margaret Hall, donned a Filipiniana while he and their two-year-old son, Philip, wore a Barong Tagalog in a portrait by Abigail Miguel which the couple posted on their respective Instagram accounts.

"This is definitely going up on the living room wall,” Phil wrote in the caption. "Celebrated Independence Day and our roots in style. Fully appreciating @iamabi.ph fine art photography."

Phil has been married to Margaret since July 2019. They welcomed their first child, Philip, on June 12, 2020.

The Azkals ex-skipper and star striker announced his retirement from football in November 2019 citing several uncertainties in his career.

Phil is one of the country's most successful footballers and holds the record for being the top goal scorer for the national team.
