Lorin Bektas shares Turkey travel vlog, what she learned after meeting dad Yilmaz Bektas

Lorin Bektas shared how she felt after meeting her father Yilmaz Bektas again after 15 years.

In her vlog, Lorin showed her vacation in Turkey to spend time with her dad and sister Ilknaz Lauren Bektas. Lorin went to Turkey with her younger sister, Venice.

In the vlog, Lorin admitted how intimidating it is to share her personal experience of meeting her father again.

"This is possibly the most monumental moment of my life so far that I decided to share to the world so it is intimidating to put such a personal aspect of me so openly."

Lorin explained that she grew up not knowing when she will have another chance to meet her Turkish father.

"There were definitely moments in my life where I was convinced I didn't know when I was going to see my father's side.

"I didn't know if I was even going touch Turkey. The fact that suddenly I am on good speaking terms with my father and my father's side and him and my mom are now entering this new chapter of co-parenting both me and my sister," She added.

The 18-year-old daughter of Ruffa Gutierrez disclosed, "If you told me this five years ago, I would not have believed you in my wildest dreams."

Lorin shared a lesson that she learned with this experience of reconnecting with her Turkish family.

"If there's anyone out there, one of your parents, or a family member, maybe one of your kids isn't in your life and you guys aren't on the best of terms, I want you to know that it is possible to heal those relationships. It is possible to move forward. It is possible to grow even if it feels like it is impossible."

She added, "The right people will come back in God's perfect timing."

Lorin revealed that her goal is to focus on spending time with her family.

"There was a lot of hurt for 15 years. But my mindset is that the past is the past. There's nothing we can do to alter or change it and I am not the type of person to dwell on the 15 years, instead, I will focus on the next 15 years."

In the end, Lorin has a message to her younger self who didn't know what was going to happen in the future.

"I really think of my younger self at this very moment because I wish I could come up to her and hug her and be like, 'You will see your baba again. You will be in Turkey again, you will see your older sister again.'"
