By Cara Emmeline Garcia

Rainy days aren't just bad for your newly blown-out hair, but it's bad for your outfits too.

If you count the number of times you soaked your jeans or the fact that your feet squished in your wet shoes because you refused to wear rain boots in the rain.

But with a little help from the fashion gods of Instagram, we have finally decoded the key pieces you can wear when it rains.

Let these five rainy-day outfits inspire you the next time it pours.

1. Buy a cheery bubble umbrella

No raincoat? No problem!

Clear bubble umbrellas are the next best water-repellent accessory you can buy because it provides the coverage you need and at the same time allows you to see the path in front of you.

You can opt for a cute long trench or matching jeans on jeans combo just like Liz Uy.

2. Opt for a t-shirt dress or skirt

The only thing that's more annoying than a ruined good hair day is a pair of drenched jeans during the rainy season.

And because sitting at your desk with your bottoms still dripping in water isn't pleasant or comfortable, then opt to wear dresses or light-weight leggings instead. They dry pretty quickly and it's definitely foolproof.

3. Go for a bright raincoat

Bat away the rainy day blues with a colorful waterproof coat. Hues of pink and red are bold options, but it also adds a bit of fun and it's both stylish and feminine.

Aside from pairing your raincoat with a dress, you can also combine it with a blazer, jeans, and a pair of comfy sneakers. But should there be a downpour, skip the sneakers in favor of heavy-duty waterproof boots.

4. Add colorful accessories

When it rains, you may feel like getting dressed seems harder than usual so your easy default is to go for an all-black outfit.

To not succumb to the gloominess of the weather, go for some color with your accessories. Before rushing out the door, take a minute or two to throw on floral earrings or a colored gemstone ring to prove the weather won't bring you down.

5. Keep adding layers

Rainy days are the best time for us to feel like we live in European countries!

So try layering at most two tops on top of each other. It's an effortless look that will give you instant street style cred.

We hope you learn a thing or two to amp up your style. So even though the humidity kills your hair, the rest of you will look a-okay.
