4 hacks to level up your travel OOTDs

Want to look Instagram-ready on your next travel destination? Here are five of Janine Gutierrez's tried and tested travel hacks to level up your OOTDs and save up on luggage space!

1. Neutral outerwear

Figuring out the weather is always a struggle of its own, especially if you're in a foreign country. To steer on the safe side, Janine suggests packing a plain jacket or coat in neutral shades such as whites, blacks, or browns that can match with any outfit and any temperature. A coat can also double as an outfit if you close it and secure with a belt.

2. Sisterhood of the traveling coat

When traveling to colder countries, shopping for winter-wear can get quite pricey. Plus, there's rarely any occasion you'll be able to use it in a tropical country like the Philippines. To save up on travel funds, Janine loves to borrow from her mom Lotlot de Leon and her mamita Pilita Corrales.

3. Versatile scarves

There's no fashion item more versatile than a scarf! During flights, scarves can be used as a blanket. When facing cold climates, they can offer extra warmth when wrapped around the neck. On trips to the beach, scarves can also double as a top or a sarong.

4. Multipurpose lipstick and palettes

To save up on luggage space, Janine loves to free up her makeup kit by bringing multipurpose cosmetics. She uses lipsticks, not just on the lips, but on the eyes and cheeks as well. Palettes with neutral shades of matte browns and champagne-y shimmers also come in handy.
