CLASSIC BLUE: Fashionable ways to rock Pantone's Color of the Year
It's official: we're all about to turn blue come 2020.
Because Pantone, the high court of color, has declared its Color of the Year for 2020 to be Classic Blue.
Now before you say that Classic Blue is boring, let us remind you that blue is the color of royalty. Need we remind you of Kate Middleton's ring? And how she rocked a blue dress during the announcement of her engagement?
Just like her, we could all use a little stable color like this one in our lives. Which is probably the reason why Pantone chose it.
In an interview with the New York Times, Pantone's Vice President Laurie Pressman describes the color as a “desire for a dependable, stable foundation” and is “non-aggressive,” “easily relatable” and “honest.”
To that end, we're rounding up a few ways to rock next year's biggest shade:
Rock the baby doll look
Mix it with casual items
Tame it down with some neutrals
Bring it to the beach
Mix it with patterns
Go formal but add a pop of color
Don't be afraid of fun prints
Take it to the streets
Say goodbye to living coral because classic blue is here to stay and it's gonna bring not only stability but also style in your wardrobe.
