Tom Brady launches namesake sportswear brand this December

By Racquel Quieta

Football icon Tom Brady joins the list of celebrity athletes who ventured into the fashion industry as he releases his namesake athleisure brand “Brady” this December.

It seems like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback and seven-time Super Bowl champion is already putting his ducks in a row for life after his stellar career in football, with the launch of his eponymous clothing line.

“Brady” will reportedly consist of casual wear and training clothes and aims to be the next big name in the sportswear landscape.

Tom has appointed Jens Grede, who helped launch Kim Kardashian's shapewear empire Skims, as his brand's CEO and co-founder.

Also onboard Tom's sportswear label is Dao-Yi Chow, former DKNY designer and co-founder of streetwear brand Public School New York.

Grede told The Wall Street Journal that the ultimate goal for them is to catapult Brady as the largest namesake sportswear brand, much like NBA legend Michael Jordan's Jordan Brand.

“We're just focused on creating the finest sports brand in the world. That really is the ambition,” said Grede.

He also shared that Tom hopes that the people will love sporting his brand's logo as much as they are fond of rocking Jordan's Jumpman logo.

In an Instagram post, Tom teased about his eponymous athleisure brand by unveiling the logo.

Part of his caption reads: “Run the game, don't let the game run you. BRADY - my next generation apparel brand is coming soon.”

Other athletes like Tom Brady who established their own namesake clothing line include Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Cristiano Ronaldo, Virat Kohli, and Lukas Podolski.
