Adele reemerges as cover star in two Vogue magazines; breaks silence on divorce

By Racquel Quieta

Two weeks after revealing her new boyfriend on Instagram, Adele surprises the world anew as she reemerges on the cover of both British Vogue's and American Vogue's November issue.

The surprise simultaneous magazine covers were unveiled days ahead of the release of Adele's new single from her highly anticipated album, which fans speculate to be titled 30.

In one cover, Adele can be seen clad in a gorgeous yellow off-shoulder Vivienne Westwood dress with a Tiffany and Co. brooch.

While on the other one, the record-breaking and award-winning singer-songwriter is seen rocking a stunning green dress with her hair styled in a chic low bun.

It's the first time that the two magazines shared a cover star for the same month, and in the cover story, the “Send My Love to Your New Lover” singer talked about her new look, new sound, and new love.

And for the first time ever, Adele breaks her silence on her divorce from former husband, Simon Konecki.

She revealed that although the divorce settlement itself went “as smoothly as possible,” it still has greatly affected their son, Angelo.

“He has so many simple questions for me that I can't answer, because I don't know the answer. Like, 'Why can't we still live together?' 'That's just not what people do when they get divorced.' 'But why not?' I'm like, 'I don't fucking know. That's not what society does,'” she said.

“And: 'Why don't you love my dad anymore?' And I'd be like, 'I do love your dad. I'm just not in love.' I can't make that make sense to a nine-year-old,” she added.

She also weighed in on why people are stunned by her physical transformation.

“People are shocked because I didn't share my 'journey.' They're used to people documenting everything on Instagram. I did it for myself and not anyone else. So why would I ever share it? I don't find it fascinating. It's my body,” Adele continued.

Then the queen of heartbreak hits also shared what people could expect from her new music. “I feel like this album is self-destruction, then self-reflection and then sort of self-redemption. But I feel ready. I really want people to hear my side of the story this time.”

On October 6, the “Someone Like You” and “Rolling in the Deep” singer shared a teaser of her new single “Easy on Me,” which will be released on October 15.
