Renowned Filipino designer Francis Libiran shows a sneak peak of the much-awaited look of Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera who will serve as a judge at the upcoming 70th Miss Universe.
As Marian begins her official duties as part of the selection committee, fans are excited to see the different looks the Kapuso fashionista will showcase in the pre-pageant events and most especially, the coronation night.
In an interview on 24 Oras' “Chika Minute,” the designer shared that the beaded gown Rivera will be wearing only took four days and six people working altogether to finish the dress.
In the design sketch he showed, Rivera's personality is evidently reflected, Libiran said. “Tinanong ko lang si Marian kung ano 'yung mga gusto niya eh sabi niya, she wants off-shoulder. Sabi ko 'O Marian nakaupo ka most of the time so talagang ipakita natin 'tong part na 'to kasi 'yun 'yung asset mo.'”
“Very simple lang requirement ni Marian and it's always easy to work with her alam niya talaga 'yung gusto niya eh,” he added.
Apart from the Kapuso star, the spotlight is also on another Filipina, Miss Universe-Philippines Beatrice Luigi Gomez who Libiran is also dressing on the coronation night.
Just like Rivera, the famous designer likewise just patterned Gomez's gown from her personality.
The experience of dressing for participants in the Miss Universe competition is a dream come true for Libiran. This is because it is the only pageant that he has not had the privilege of designing gowns for yet.
Meanwhile, pageant enthusiasts just got more excited as the introduction video for Gomez has been released. The 26-year-old stunner introduced herself as an athlete, community development worker, and proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community. She also highlighted being a member of the reserved force of the Philippine Navy marines and is currently taking up Mass Communication.
