Dianne Medina exercises practical shopping

By Nherz Almo

Dianne Medina admits that she's a frequent online shopper because of her job. Aside from being an actress, the wife of Rodjun Cruz also does newscasting and hosting events.

“I always shop for clothes and shoes because, you know, I juggle so much work--I am a TV host, actress, and I do hosting events. I usually buy a lot of clothes talaga for my hosting events. I can't resist buying clothes and shoes talaga,” she said in a short interview with GMANetwork.com after her hosting stint at the launch of Pink N' Classy by Hey Pretty recently.

However, unlike other celebrities who shop all they want, Dianne follows a strict budget, especially now that she's a mom.

“I'm a frugal person,” she said. “I'm very budgeted person and a practical mom. I also have to be practical and budget our money. Of course, I also need permission from my husband if I need to buy high-end pieces.

“Every time I have events, I usually shop. The budget would range from PhP5,000 up 'yung clothes. But sometimes, it can go lower naman.”

Although she's always on a budget, the celebrity mom still considers the quality of the product before checking them out.

“I also wanna make sure that I can use them for the long term. I don't sacrifice naman [the quality] talaga. I wanna get the value of my money. I wanna shop for good quality and affordable pieces.”

Dianne said she always does her shopping online, “I support local sellers, most especially all the mom entrepreneurs.”

This was the reason she happily did the hosting job for the Pink N' Classy by Hey Pretty launch because it offers affordable clothes for the ladies.

“It's nice to know that she empowers women through her clothing line,” she added.

In a separate interview, its owner, Anne Barretto, said her dresses maintain classy designs at an affordable price.

“Hindi po siya normal na makikita nating clothing line na PhP1,000 or PhP1,500 pero maraming kapareha. Dito po, parang limited edition lang talaga. Parang once na naglabas kami ng first collection namin, hindi na po nila ulit makukuha 'yon. At the same time, 'yung quality, it's elegant and classy.”

She added about the prices, “Nasa middle lang po siya. So, kapag mayroong events like, kasal or dinner, I think affordable po siya para sa ibinibigay naming damit.”

The brand's offerings really suit Dianne's shopping practices. As stressed at the end of the interview, “We need to be more practical right now. Most especially we know that the inflation rate is currently going up, ang mahal ng mga bilihin!”
