Juancho Trivino

After struggling to finish his recent race, Juancho Trivino shared some insights on the challenges he faced.

Kapuso actor Juancho Trivino admitted that he had to “scrape and claw” to finish his most recent race, and shared the challenges he faced during the run.

On his Instagram account, Juancho posted several photos of him running a 10km race. In the caption of his post, the actor said he wanted to share the challenges he faced during the race, and noted that he just wanted to share his journey in his first sub 1 race.

A sub 1 refers to finishing a 10km race in under 1 hour. It's a notable achievement for runners and requires a lot of commitment and training. However, when his wife, Joyce Pring, needed to take a break in training after her marathon, he did not run.

“Joyce and I stopped training after her marathon to give her time to recover. I know, di naman ako un, pero dahil wala partner ko di dn ako naka takbo hahaha,” Juancho said.

He added that he also got sick the week before, and admitted feeling that his conditioning was back to zero.

“Last, I knew I was able to finish, but I was targeting 5:19 because that was my PR (Personal Record) for 10k, but I did that in a much lower HR (Heart Rate),” the actor shared.

He added, “My HR was going off the charts for this one, definitely unsustainable, I was hitting 196 at one point and I had to slow down.”

Juancho then listed some of his takeaways from the race, including how important strength and conditioning were to sustain his running. He also noted that he did not put much value on his nutrition.

The actor also advised other runners to listen to their bodies and stop comparing themselves. Lastly, Juancho asked other runners to run with purpose.

“In closing, if u see one picture 'yung naka turo ako sa taas - kasi that time naging fully reliant ako kay God to help me finish cause I was running on fumes, and I Praise HIM for pulling me towards that finish line,” Juancho said, ending his post.
