By Felix Ilaya

Camille Prats, Suzi Abrera, Mariel de Leon, and Ian Red talked about the negative things people have said about them during the “Sharing Group” segment of Mars.

Mars Camille admitted that she often gets bashed for her height and weight.

She related, "Lagi sa'kin [naba-bash] 'yung height ko. 'Sayang maliit ka lang.' Sumunod naman 'yung weight ko.
“There's a huge pressure especially when you come out on TV that you have to look a certain way kasi nga 'di ba plus plus pounds kapag nasa television.

“So for a time, especially when I was younger, grabe 'yung pressure na 'yun sa lahat, to a point na kapag malaki ka, wala kang show or tatanggalin ka kasi mataba ka."

She then recalled of a time when one of her co-stars got removed from their show for being too fat.

"Dati I remember, bata pa kami noon, mga teenagers.

“'Yung isang kasamahan namin tatanggalin sa show kasi mataba siya.

“Tapos nag-iiyakan kami and we were 16! “So imagine how as a teenager, how do you deal with something like that?

“Nabubuo pa lang 'yung personalidad mo tapos ang dami nang humuhusga sa'yo na hindi ka pwedeng magkatrabaho ng ganito kasi mataba ka," said Camille.

Now, Camille noticed that the industry has become more welcoming and inclusive when it comes to different body shapes and sizes.

"At that time, kung gusto mo talaga 'yung ginagawa mo, kailangan mong mag-conform sa gusto nila.

"Parang ngayon na lang siya naging maganda na ang healthy lifestyle mas okay na siya kasi you're doing it para maging healthy ka physically but not aesthetically for you to look good.

"Meron nang 'Strong is the new sexy.' I love that!

"Nakakatuwa lang na ang dami nang mga ganitong bagay na ine-embrace natin at this point."
