WATCH: Janine Gutierrez shows how she got abs in 27 days

Dragon Lady actress Janine Gutierrez showed how she achieved her abs in 27 days--just in time for her Metro Body photoshoot.

On her latest YouTube vlog, Janine said, “Last month I was asked to do Metro Body which is the body issue of Metro Magazine with BJ Pascual, one of the amazing photographers and my good friend.

“Of course, I said yes because Metro Body is one of my bucket list shoots.

“It's always been an inspiration to see the people on the issue.”

Janine confessed she's not much of a gym rat.

“If I don't have a beach trip or kung wala naman akong pinaghahandaan na shoot, medyo tamad talaga mag-workout.

“That's why I was excited to say yes, to push myself,” the 29-year-old actress said.

Luckily, she reached her goal and shared her fitness journey.

“I started a bit slow, just trying to get used to cardio again and really learning my way through the gym.

"Gym is something I've never done.

“I don't want to gain so much muscle, I just want to be lean, and fit, and toned,” Janine said.

She added, “I told him [trainer] that abs was really my goal. But it's important to work out the different parts of your body.”

Janine also shared a workout tool she found extremely helpful--a fitness band.

“I love fitness bands because it really feels like these small movements really target the muscles that you need to exercise, and you can bring them anywhere. a few reps burns all the right spots.”

She also said that she enjoyed pilates.

A week before her shoot, Janine was finally seeing progress. “Let's see if may abs na ba tayo…medyo meron na. Baby abs.”

Janine barely took any cheats days, only when she was feeling sick. Despite her busy schedule, she always included a workout in her day.

A clip showed her in a gym in Zamboanga, ready to start sweating. “I'm in Zamboanga for a mall show, but I have to work out.”

Towards the end of the video, Janine happily showed her fitness development.

“It's already March 14 and people have been telling me that I lost weight.

“Luckily we did it, abs in 27 days.

"One of the things that really helped me was that I didn't really start from scratch.

"I started going to the gym maybe once every two weeks.

"That helps because I didn't start from zero.”

Janine concluded that getting your fitness goals is possible if you're really dedicated. She said, “If you really make fitness a part of your lifestyle.”
