Joyce revealed via a video that she experienced anxiety attacks in 2018 that made her stop from joining triathlons. However, the Kapuso host is determined to get back to the grind especially that she also aims to be a #SexyBride2020.

She shared, “About 3 years ago, I was racing sprint duathlons and triathlons and it brought me so much joy - but in 2018, I started having really bad anxiety that kept me from training regularly: I would panic every time my heartbeat went up, whenever I swam, I'd feel like I was about to drown, and it just became clear that I could no longer do triathlon.”

She also related how she got back to training just yesterday, December 12, with the help of her coach and her faith.

“Watch out for my races next year!!! But also, for #SexyBride2020! This was my triathlon hashtag, #JPTries,” she also said.

About 3 years ago, I was racing sprint duathlons and triathlons and it brought me so much joy - but in 2018, I started having really bad anxiety that kept me from training regularly: I would panic every time my heartbeat went up, whenever I swam, I'd feel like I was about to drown, and it just became clear that I could no longer do triathlon. 😢 Recently though, God has been so gracious in giving me comfort to slowly get back on track. Yesterday was my first full-on day back at strength and conditioning. Big thanks to coach @edwinbinoya who pushed me to my limit and awakened the athlete in me cowering at the corner in deep anxiety. I was reminded of God's blessings in my life - in the ability to train for triathlon again, yes, but also, in overcoming fear, because we are already victorious in Christ. 💕 Watch out for my races next year!!! But also, for #SexyBride2020! 😂🤣 This was my triathlon hashtag ➡️ #JPTries ✨
