Stretches to improve posture and relieve muscle pain for work-from-home individuals

If you're working from home for eight hours or more a day, chances are you've probably experienced muscle pain from poor posture, especially if you're work-from-home setup isn't ergonomic.

So, here are some stretches you can do to relieve pain and improve posture while you work from home.

1. Stretch using your chair

If your excuse for not exercising (or at least doing stretches) is lack of time, here's a series of simple stretches that you can do using your chair for only 5 minutes.

2. Stretches to fix “desk posture”

Slouching over and staring down at your laptop for almost half of the day everyday can take a toll on you neck and shoulder. Here are stretches that you can do to fix your “desk posture”.

3. Stretches with animal names

If you're bad at remembering things or names, then these stretches with animal names will be perfect for you.

4. Stretch without standing from your chair

If you're too lazy to do any kind of stretching that involves standing from your chair, then these stretches are totally for you. You can even do these while you wait for a file to attach, download, or render.

5. Lower back and torso stretches

If you've been having lower back pain due to sitting for long periods of time. Here are stretches or “deskercises” that will help reduce stiffness, and you can conveniently do them while sitting on your work chair.

While it is tempting to work non-stop in order to check off things in your to-do list, keep in mind that sitting in sustained postures for hours can lead to soreness and aches throughout your body.

That's why it's important to take breaks and do some stretches while working remotely.
