Andrea Torres's easy and effective home workouts

If you've been struggling to work out at home or you need ideas to make your fitness routines more interesting, we've rounded up the top five exercises Andrea Torres does for that curvy and lean physique most women envy.

In an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com, Andrea discusses her go-to home workouts which she has proven effective.

1. Planking

Andrea enjoys doing planks when working out.

She explains, “Kasi talagang for me 'yun 'yung best exercise sa core eh. Ramdam na ramdam mo talaga siya. And when you do it right, makikita mo agad 'yung result.”

Aside from improving your core strength, planking helps decrease the risk of injuries in your back and spinal column. It also improves your posture, balance, and flexibility.

2. Banded exercises

Since Andrea avoids visiting the gym during the period of quarantine, the Kapuso actress has been using bands to add resistance to, as well as modify, her training. Bands may be used to progress from your already familiar exercises that work your core, arms, and lower body.

She shares, “Na-discover ko talaga kung gaano kalaking epekto ang nabibigay 'pag naglalagay ka ng band when you exercise. Kasi siyempre mas nafi-feel mo 'yung burn, mas hirap.”

3. Kettlebell exercises

For Andrea, the kettlebell is like an all-in-one body conditioning equipment. Doing kettlebell exercises is good for core strength, balance and stability, mobility and body coordination.

The Kapuso actress illustrates this, saying, “Grabe rin magpapawis ang kettlebell and marami ka rin pwedeng gawin sa kanya.

"Pwede kang mag-squats, pwede kang mag-deadlift. Pwede kang mag-kettlebell swings, pwede kang mag-arms. Ang dami, napaka-flexible niya.”

4. High knees

Andrea finds doing high knees as an effective cardiovascular exercise.

She says, “High knees, grabe rin magpapawis 'yan. Magandang cardio rin 'yan kahit na limang beses ka lang mag-high knees na 30 seconds, mafi-feel mo. Mauubos ka talaga.”

5. Burpees

For a total body workout, Andrea does burpees. Moreover, she likes incorporating this in her routine because she can target major muscle groups while exercising in a limited space.

Andrea shares, “I think ano rin, maraming nata-target ang burpees - core, arms, legs. So maganda rin na ma-practice mo 'yun at magawa mo nang tama para anytime na gusto mong mag-workout, pwede.”
