Unang Hirit host Lyn Ching opened up about her biggest insecurities growing up.

Lyn shared, “As an overweight kid, I was often teased about my big legs, specifically my calves.

“For a long time i was ashamed of them. Trunk-like in my school uniform,

“They were fat, scarred and muscular in places they shouldn't be.”

But as time passed by, she learned to accept her imperfections and later on became more confident.

Lyn said, “Then i grew up and learned to love myself, including my flaws. I learned to be confident and dress the way i want to because it makes me happy.

“And my calves? They are muscular because they are strong.”

She also listed down the things why she loves her legs now even more.

“My legs allow me.....

"to walk with my husband in the afternoons,

"to dance in the rain when it pours,

"to run and finish errands earlier than at the last minute,

"to sprint towards my children when they call for me,

"to stroll and help me take in everything new when i travel,

"my legs allow me to kneel in praise and thankfulness for I am beyond fortunate and blessed.”

In conclusion, The morning talk show host stressed that her imperfections and insecurities are her biggest assets at the beautiful age of 47.

“As a woman, a human being, living in a world with an emphasis on and appreciation for beauty and perfection, I have my insecurities and many moments of doubt.

“But at the end of the day, i am thankful for what i have.

“And at this wonderful age of 47, my imperfection has finally become my asset.

“So.... My big, muscular, strong calves say hello," she said.

Losing weight

In 2018, Lyn Ching also talked about her fitness journey.

At age 45 then, she figured out that what works for in order to lose the extra pounds, was when she practiced intermittent fasting.

“At almost 45, I've tried so many diet fads that I could never sustain. This one works for me.

"As with everything else though, please ask your doctor first if your body can take it.

"Then if you're okay, perhaps give it a go? Just make sure to hold on tight because the results come in veeeerrrryyy sloooooowly...it took weeks before I saw the needle on my scale move...be patient and just breathe."
