However, it is one of the most nutritious foods as it is rich in vitamin C and A. It also has a lot of fiber which is good for digestion.
Chef Jion Redoña has a refreshing and surprising way to use ampalaya. He incorporated the bitter vegetable into a sweet shake.
Here's how you can prepare his Ampalaya Sweet Shake.
Ingredients
Ampalaya
Apples
Bananas
Yogurt
Evaporated milk
Honey
Cinammon
Ice
Procedure
1. In a blender, mix sliced ampalaya, apples, bananas, yogurt, evaporated milk, honey and cinammon
2. Blend until smooth
3. Add ice and blend again
