Maricel delos Reyes was a part-time home baker when she started MerriTreats in March 2014.
"Dahil love ko ang pagbe-bake, nag-decide ako mag-resign sa work noong 2017 para mag-full time na for baking and cake decorating. Super sulit at naaasikaso ko pa ang family ko," says Chef Cel.
She has received repeat orders of her customized cakes with the bestselling moist chocolate cake base, some even by celebrity clients like Julie Anne San Jose and Khalil Ramos.

Sweet Cirque
"The idea of this business came after high school. Having a sweet tooth and a passion for cakes and pastries, sabi ko magke-cake na lang ako, ayoko na mag-college," shares Yna of Sweet Cirque.
Her parents didn't allow her to do that, so after finishing her degree, she took a two-week cake course and that started it all. "Up until now, I am the only one running the business. From grocery shopping to baking to making each and every detail that goes on the cake, wala pa din ako assistant."
Yna considers the following as Sweet Cirque's bestselling flavors: moist chocolate with vanilla bean buttercream filling, triple decker with vanilla buttercream and surprise center, and banana with caramel buttercream filling. Makulay
Shudy Elano of Makulay started to expand her business when one of her customers referred her to a friend who was getting married. "I showed them one of my cakes and luckily they liked it so they assigned me to bake the souvenirs. That gave me the inspiration to bake again."
Makulay's bestseller is their cheesecake, which comes in blueberry, red velvet, and rainbow variety. Freshly baked upon order, each cheesecake is made of high-quality ingredients and can be tasted in every bite.

Edma Bakes
"Edma Bakes is a home-based baking business born out of passion. Every creation is made with love and artistry to make your celebrations even more special," shares owner Edmalynne Remillano.
Although she customizes the flavors and frostings based on the client's preference, her bestseller usually consists of "our signature Moist Chocolate Cake base, Decadent Chocolate Ganache filling, and Swiss Buttercream frosting."
She further describes, "Our Signature Moist Chocolate Cake is packed with chocolate flavor, while the Decadent Chocolate Ganache is made with bittersweet chocolates so as not to be cloyingly sweet. Our Swiss Buttercream frosting is made from real, European butter. It complements the cake and filling well to make an exciting but not overpoweringly sweet surprise for your taste buds."

Tets' Custom Cakes
Cake decorating was only a hobby for Kristel Canaveral before she turned it into a home business now known as Tets' Custom Cakes.
She recalls, "I started making cakes for my son in 2016. I just wanted him to have a special cake every time he celebrates his birthday.
"In January 2019, with the encouragement of my husband, relatives, and friends, I decided to turn it into a home business. Since then, orders have been outpouring. And I give all the glory to our Lord Almighty for giving me a profitable business that I'm also passionate about."
She considers the flamingo cake above as her best creation. "I love its simplicity yet very classy look. It's made of moist chocolate cake in dark chocolate ganache and covered with fondant. Flamingo and pineapple details are made of styrofoam covered in fondant. Flowers and leaves are made from flexible paste which made them bendable, breakage-free and weather-proof."
