Heads up, coffee lovers! If you're in Makati and looking for a place to sit down, chill, and have a cup of your favorite brew, here are seven coffee shops you can try.

Commune

If you want to support Philippine Coffee, Commune is the right place for you. Commune buys coffee beans directly from farmers in various coffee-rich areas in the country like Benguet, Sagada, South Cotabato, and Bukidnon.

Try Commune's best-sellers: Iconic Cappuccino Art and Iced Mocha. They also offer food such as Arroz a la Cubana, Pollo al Ajillo, and Pork Adobo.

Commune is open from 8 a.m. to 12 mn every Mondays to Thursdays, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Friday and Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. every Sunday.

Poison Coffee and Doughnuts

Are you one of those people who like to chill in a dark place? If yes, Poison Coffee and Doughnuts is perfect for you.

Relax with your choice of black or white coffee, or mocha, paired with donuts in Blueberry Glaze, Salted Dark Chocolate, or Boston Creme

Poison Coffee and Doughnuts is open every day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Neighborhood Café

The Neighborhood Café's specialties are Flat White, Cappuccino, and their signature drink, Love, Rosie.

If you need food to go with your coffee, Vengo, a Mexican restaurant just beside it, offers Crunchy Tacos and Shiitake Mushroom Tostada.

Vengo Neighborhood Café is open from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. on Mondays to Saturdays and from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sundays.

West Town's Coffee

West Town's Coffee is in history books for bringing in the country the first coffee-profiling machine that can be used to extract 100 flavors in just one type of bean.

They offer both highlands coffee from Kenya, Ethiopia, Brazil, and local products like beans from Atok in Benguet, Sagada, Mt. Matutum, and Mt. Apo.

Their specialties are Cortado, which is a mix of coffee blends, and Ethiopian Cold Brew.

West Town's Coffee is open daily from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m.

The Curator Coffee and Cocktails

If you want a world-class coffee shop and cocktail bar, The Curator, which is part of Asia's 50 Best Bars in 2019, is the perfect choice for you.

What's unique about this coffee shop is that they have Brew of the Day (BOD), a special brew that you don't often see on the menu.

The Curator is open from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m. every Mondays to Saturdays and from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. every Sundays.

ABKD

Another treasure of Poblacion is ABKD, the brainchild of Master Chef Asia's alum Lica Ibarra.

Choose from the store's signature drinks like the ABKD 18H Cold Brew or the Signature Single-Origin Chocolate.

ABKD also offers a wide variety of food from pasta to burgers like Carbonara, Eenie Meanie Bucatini, and the Chori Burger with Shrimp.

ABKD is open from 3 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Tuesdays to Fridays; 3 p.m. 4 a.m. on Saturdays, and 3 p.m. to 12 mn on Mondays.

Single Origin

With two locations situated in different business districts of Makati, Single Origin offers a wide variety of coffee, wine, food, and cocktails that are perfect for every occasion.

If you went there in the morning, a must-try is the Salted Caramel Choco A La Mode French Toast or the Choco Bacon Waffle.

But if you want some caffeine in your system, you should try the Syphon or the 18-hour Cold Process Iced Coffee.

Single Origin in Greenbelt is open from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m every Sunday to Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m every Friday and Saturday.
