By Bianca Geli

Almost everyone can agree that Japanese food is sumptuous. If you're planning to take a break from all the Samgyupsal sessions with your friends, Japanese food may be the perfect alternative.

With so many Japanese restaurants to choose from, it's tough to find places that are affordable yet authentic. That is why we made a list of must-try Japanese food found in Little Tokyo, Makati City. Known for its reliable roster of Japanese food chains, your taste buds will be in for a treat once you make a trip to this restaurant strip.

1. Izakaya Kikufuji

Izakaya Kikufuji is found right next to Little Tokyo's street entrance. The place is known as one of the first Shinjuku Ramen places in Manila.

2. Yamazaki

Yamazaki offers Japanese grocery finds that aren't usually available in most local groceries. They offer almost everything, from Japanese candies, snacks, to personal care items. Their in-house restaurant, Hoka Hoka Bento Ramen Shop serves affordable dishes. According to Philippine Primer, their famous Shoyu Ramen is available for only 180 pesos.

3. Sekitori Japanese Restaurant

Sekitori is truly worth a visit for their popular Chanko Nabe, or original sumo food. This dish consists of pork bone, chicken bone, vegetables, and fruits boiled and simmered in the same pot for hours.

4. Okonomiyaki Kagura

Kagura is famous for their tasty okonomiyaki, made by a chef from Osaka who cooks these savoury Japanese pancakes.

5. Hana

Hana is best known for their yakitori or Japanese barbeque and takoyaki (a popular Japanese street snack made with bits of octopus and topped with bonito flakes), freshly grilled for every order.
