Richard Gomez PhP 500 challenge

Richard Gomez took in the PhP 500 challenge in the newest episode of his series 'Goma at Home.'

Filmed last February, Richard Gomez visited the Ormoc City Wet Market with a budget of PhP 500 for a new episode of his online series Goma at Home.

"We will see what we can buy with PhP 500 and what we can come up with. We'll look for fish. We'll look for vegetables," he says at the beginning of the video as he stands right outside the market.

The actor and politician challenged himself to buy ingredients for two dishes.

"We'll see if we can come up with two viands today and then we will cook it at home," he says.

He went around the market and was able to buy a kilo of shrimp for PhP 210, half a kilo of Mahi-mahi Dorado for PhP 160, half a kilo of coconut cream for PhP 60, some slices of squash for PhP 30, and ginger for PhP 20.

He still had PhP 20 to spare as the total came up to PhP480.

Richard's vlog resumes at home in his outdoor kitchen as he prepares to make the dishes.

He plans to make a soup from the shrimps and the squash with the addition of malunggay which he grows at home.

"This is very healthy and most of all, libre kasi nandito lang sa backyard namin. Pitas lang tayo ng pitas dito," he says.

Aside from this, he also plans to pan fry the Mahi-mahi Dorado fish.
