Mariel Padilla shares 'OA' recipe for quarantine favorite, sushi bake

Celebrity mom Mariel Padilla tried her hand at cooking another quarantine favorite.

This time, she shared her recipe for sushi bake on her vlog.


She has previously shared the recipe in her online cooking show Cooking Ina with Mommy Mariel Padilla which she streams via Facebook.

According to Mariel, the episode was a hit and is her most most viewed episode to date.

"Ang sushi bake is actually the best parts of a California maki," she explains.

"Maraming version 'to. Mayroong may unagi, 'yung eel. Mayroon din 'yung version na may salmon. Ang daming iba ibang version. 'Yung gagawin natin ngayon is the simplest. For me ito 'yung classic way of doing it," she adds.

Mariel describes her sushi bake as "OA" or overacting as she packed it with many of her favorite ingredients.

Here's how to make it.

Ingredients
sushi rice or short grain rice
crab sticks
cream cheese
sushi mix
furikake
kewpie mayonnaise
fish roe
nori sheets

Procedure
1. Add sushi mix to cooked rice then let it cool
2. Shred the crab sticks
3. Mix shredded crab sticks, softened cream cheese, fish roe, mayonnaise
4. Put layer of rice in a baking tray
5. Sprinkle furikake over the rice
6. Layer the crab sticks mixture over the rice and furikake
7. Top with more fish roe
8. Bake in an oven or a toaster
