In a recent episode of Pinas Sarap's live cooking show on Facebook, ECQusina, aside from sharing her Tuna Pesto Pasta recipe, host Kara David also revealed some fun facts about tuna that are truly tunamazing!

So, read on to find out what they are and prepare to be mind-blown.

1) Tuna is perfect for those who are on a diet.

Tuna is rich in protein but low in carbohydrates and fat that's why it's the go-to food of people who are on a diet.

2) Tuna is nutritious.

Tuna is also high in calcium, folate, zinc, and Omega 3, which makes it good for your bones and heart, and also aids in fighting off anemia and boosting your immune system and metabolism.

3) Tuna is expensive because they are hard to catch.

The tuna fish cannot be bred in captivity, so fishermen usually have to go to the deepest parts of the ocean to catch them.

4) A tuna fish can grow extremely huge.

A tuna fish can grow up to 12 feet-long and can weigh up to 2,000 pounds!
