How to make Chokey Chicken from 'Rocko's Modern Life'

By Marah Ruiz

Rocko's Modern Life is an animated series which ran from 1993 to 1996 on Nickelodeon.

It centers on the daily life and adventures of a wallaby named Rocko and his friends Heffer, Filburt and his dog Spunky in their small fictional town.

The series is well-loved for its adult humor, which usually went over the heads of its younger audience.

One of its controversial jokes is the Chokey Chicken, the favorite restaurant of Rocko and his friends.

Their signature dish, also called Chokey Chicken, is "so good, you're gonna choke."

Buttermilk is traditionally the liquid left behind after churning butter out of cultured cream.

Milk mixed with a bit of lemon juice or vinegar can be used as a buttermilk substitute.

It is used in marinating meats as it helps to make chicken and pork more tender and allows flavors to permeate the meat.
