Kris Aquino says the allergens in her blood have gone down after the new treatment she received.

Kris Aquino updates her followers about her health condition, saying that the new treatment she received “did its job.”

In an Instagram post on Monday, July 17, Kris talked about the biological injection on her, which should help lower the number of allergens in her blood. According to her, the new treatment did its job as the allergens have gone down to a level that her Immunoglobulin E or IgE never reached before.

“Mataas pa rin compared to a normal, healthy person, but for someone coming from the thousands to finally be below 500 is something to be grateful for,” she wrote on the art card on her Instagram post.

However, she mentioned that the side effects of the medicine was different for her because, while it's common to get a cold and cough or a bad headache, she suffered from high blood pressure and then feeling “deep-bone pain” which, according to her, lasts three to four days.

Despite this condition, Kris clarified that she's not complaining because “at least I have access to medication that can help save my organs.”

The Queen of All Media also discussed the Churg Strauss/EGPA, which is one of the diseases she's suffering from, a rare and aggressive form of vasculitis that, even with treatment, only has a 70 percent survival rate after five years. However, if no treatment was done, the survival rate drops to 25 percent.

Kris also mentioned how pain relievers are ineffective for her as she's allergic to paracetamol, ibuprofen, aspirin, mefenamic acid, etoricxib, and all other Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or NSAIDS.

“Steroid, the first line of defense for autoimmune patients, have an adverse effect on me,” she added.

She then revealed how when she did the steroid challenge in 2022 in the Philippines, rashes appeared on her body from head to toe and every movement caused her “tremendous pain” and admitted that she needed sedation to ease the pain.

Meanwhile, Kris said that her fourth autoimmune condition is a milder form of sclerosis or systemic scleroderma. With her condition, Kris called on everyone to pray for her that it does not progress.

“Please pray with me that I don't progress beyond Cress Syndrome because Systemic Scleroderma most often can cause damage to the lungs either because of pulmonary hypertension or a pulmonary embolism,” she said.

Kris will be having the next cycle of her biological injectable on July 24. The blood panel will decide if the dosage needs to be brought higher, which she will find out about the next day, July 25.

“The dosage I'm on right now causes me to be so exhausted, feeling like I have the flu, and struggling to get out of bed,” she explained.

She added, “I can only imagine how much harder it will become - that's also the start of when I will have limited contact outside.”
