Aiko Melendez gets real about enhancements done on her body
Aiko Melendez honestly answered the questions of her good friend and manager, Ogie Diaz, about the cosmetic procedures she has done.
Aiko, who will turn 48 this month, stressed that she didn't change any part of her face, but she underwent some procedures on her body.
The Prima Donnas star admitted on her vlog, “Sa mukha wala talaga, mother. Ayan, sa mukha, honestly, wala talaga.”
“Sa katawan, 'yan, aminado ako, medyo madami tayong in-enhance diyan. I went through liposuction. 'Tapos, nagkaroon din ako, alam mo 'yung intestine natin nilagyan ng rubber band. LAP-band ang tawag diyan, ganun din ako.”
According to myclevelandclinic.org, gastric band surgery is one type of bariatric surgery procedure that's adjustable and reversible. It involves placing a silicone band called the Lap-Band around your stomach. The gastric band reduces your stomach capacity and slows the passage of food through your stomach. This can retrain you to eat less.
Aiko further explained, “'Yung food intake mo konti lang. So, parang pagka na-achieve mo na 'yung weight na gusto mo, 'yun na lang ano. Kasi, sanay na ang tiyan mo. Kasi, if you go beyond that ilalabas ko siya.”

The single mom also pointed out that looking good and living healthy is essential, especially now that she is in her late 40's, because of her two children, Andre and Marthena.
“When you grow older siyempre that's the time na kailangan mo mas alagaan ang sarili mo. Number one, health wise, siyempre may dalawa akong anak na umaasa sa akin, [kasi] single mom ako 'di ba.”
“Kapag hindi ko tinignan ang kalusugan ko- aanhin ko 'yung pinaghihirapan ko yaman. Kung may sakit ako. So, that's number one.” Aiko said.
“Number two, I owe it to my audience e, na to look good on TV, whenever they see me. Kasi, minsan na nga lang ako lumabas, 'tapos pagkita pa nila hindi pa kaaya-aya sa hitsura nila. So, medyo nagu-guilty naman ako. Kaya nung nag-40 years old ako mother, that's the time na sabi ko sa sarili ko papaya talaga ako. So, dun ako nag-start.”
Andre is Aiko's son with her ex-husband Jomari Yllana. While, Marthena is her daughter with former model and actor Martin Jickain.
