The battle to get more people inoculated against the dreaded coronavirus disease is in full swing. With the country's total COVID-19 infections now standing at 2,604,040 (as of Oct 4), the government is encouraging all those eligible to get their shots immediately.
In fact, even pregnant celebrities have joined the efforts to educate their fellow moms that they can get vaccinated even if they are with child.
In a report by Business World, they quoted a study from the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology - Maternal Fetal Medicine that showed 36 newborns that were tested at birth all have antibodies against COVID-19. These babies' mothers were vaccinated with COVID-19 shots made by Pfizer Inc.-BioNTech SE or Moderna Inc.

“Bossa Nova Queen” Sitti was among those moms who chose to get inoculated against COVID-19. This is her second pregnancy. She gave birth to her firstborn, Issiah Dañelle, on November 4, 2018.
Sitti shared why she and husband Joey wanted to get inoculated with the Moderna vaccine. She explained on Instagram, “Joey and I trust the science behind vaccines. We trust that this is the best decision we can make for me and our baby in these extraordinary times.”
The OPM singer also talked about the side effects she experienced after getting her two doses. She recalled, “The only side effects I felt the day after the first dose were slight fatigue, heaviness on injected site, and I pooped twice more than usual. Day 2 after the first dose I was back to normal. My succeeding ultrasounds show that baby is doing okay too.” Sitti safely delivered her baby on September 23 and named her Osseah Lucille.
Actress-entrepreneur Neri Naig and OPM vocalist Chito Miranda officially announced that they are having a baby on May 9, 2021. They welcomed their panganay, Miggy in 2016.
After consulting with her doctor, Neri pushed with her plans to be inoculated with Sinovac. She also had no qualms about getting the vaccine, which is the only one available in their area. “Binigyan ako ng doktora ko ng medical certificate/clearance na puwede ako magpabakuna.
“Sinovac ang meron sa Alfonso. Kaya syempre kung ano na ang available, 'yun na ang kunin ko. Better kaysa sa wala."
She also assured everyone that she didn't suffer any major side effects from the COVID-19 shots. According to Mrs. Miranda, “Hindi naman ako nilagnat nung 1st dose ko. Inantok lang ako, bagsak ako agad, hehe! Pero naligo muna ako bago matulog. 2nd dose, hindi pa rin ako nilagnat o nanghina. Medyo mabigat lang sa arm ko, parang nabangga sa door, ganun lang. Tapos may pasa ako. Pero pasain naman kase ako. So far, ok naman ako. Ayun din, sobrang inantok lang din ako after. Ayun ang side effect sa akin.”
In April 2021, Beauty vlogger Anna Cay confirmed in a vlog that she and her husband Geloy Villalobos that they will become parents soon.
According to the first-time mom, she and Geloy got inoculated with the Moderna vaccine.
As advised by her OB Gyne, Mommy Anna was able to get inoculated before her 35th week of pregnancy. She posted on IG, “Done with second dose of covid vaccine at almost 35 [weeks]. Again, I was advised by my OB. If you are pregnant and under someone's professional care, I strongly advise that you talk it out with them.”
The beginning of October was a tremendous blessing for Anna's family as she gave birth to Alexei Constantin via caesarian section last October 3.
