WATCH: Meet the artist who creates beautiful hand-painted bayongs to fund her treatments

By Cara Emmeline Garcia

Meet Tin Sarmiento.

She's a local artist based in Sampaloc, Manila who went viral recently for sharing her works of art. In fact, ever since she was a kid she already had a passion for the arts by drawing her favorite cartoon characters.

But behind the beautiful works of art and chic handbags lie the story of its creator.

Tin actually suffers from kidney failure that started when she was only eleven years old. And since then, she's been undergoing dialysis every three weeks to prevent the build-up of waste in her body.

Since undergoing treatment she's been experiencing weakness all over her body and her bone structure has changed as well due to complications.

So instead of doing nothing, Tin grabbed some paint and a brush and started painting on bayongs and shoes to help fund her weekly treatments.

Her motivation? The people around her.
