How does Lovi Poe cope with COVID-19-induced anxiety?

Mental health is a growing concern in this time of global health crisis. And as people around the world experience stress and anxiety due to the COVID-19&nbkisp;pandemic, more and more celebrities are sharing their coping mechanisms as a way to extend help while the lockdown is still in place.

In an exclusive interview with GMA Lifestyle, actress Lovi Poe gives personal advice on how to deal with the pandemic anxiety.

Self-Care

Lovi recommends starting the morning with positive vibes. To do this, she plays upbeat music to help set the tone for the day.

“Pag gising niyo sa umaga, play upbeat music para that sets the tone for the day,” she said.

The fitness enthusiast also highly suggests doing a workout, meditation, and praying.

“Workout, para mag-release kayo ng happy hormones and endorphins. Kasi 'yun, sa'kin, nakakatulong 'yun. And, meditate, always pray,” she added.

Distract Yourself

Lovi admits that she can't complain about being bored while under home quarantine as she always tries to find a way to keep herself busy. “Kumbaga, boredom now is a luxury, sad to say.”

For Lovi, making yourself preoccupied with hobbies like reading and cooking can help alleviate negative emotions.

“The moment siguro may nararamdaman kang certain stress ulit, pick up a book and start reading, cook, bake,” she listed. “Kumbaga, kung ano sa tingin mo yung makaka-distract ng ganung klaseng negative emotion.”

The Owe My Love actress also noted that she is spending a lot of time writing poems, which she hopes would turn out as song lyrics as well.

“But, siguro ngayon, I'm spending a lot of time writing. Nagsusulat ako ng mga tula at hopefully maging awitin ulit siya in the future.

“I guess writing is a way of expressing yourself, lalo na it's such an emotional time,” she said.

Keep Contact

Lovi also reminded everyone to get in touch with loved ones as it can help ease loneliness and other unpleasant emotions.

“I guess we'll just take this as an opportunity to take some time to nurture relationships, something that we don't usually have the time to because we're too busy working and too busy building our own lives,” she added.

Lastly, Lovi believes that it is important to keep your social media diet and information diet in check as well.
