Jon Lucas is COVID-19-free after initial test showed that he was positive for the virus

Kapuso actor Jon Lucas is breathing a sigh of relief after his latest results confirmed that he is negative of the deadly novel coronavirus disease.

The Descendants of the Sun actor shared on his Facebook post yesterday, June 25, a detailed account on being tested positive for COVID-19 when he subjected himself in a rapid antibody-based test.

COVID-19 Testing: RT-PCR Test vs. Rapid Antibody-based Test

According to the Department of Health (DOH), the rapid antibody test determines the presence of an antibody after a person exhibits the symptoms. It provides a result with limited certainty and is not used to confirm the coronavirus disease.

This is why the DOH prefers the Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) Test because it determines the exact virus before a person show symptoms.

In a lengthy post, Jon narrated what happened when he got admitted in the New Era General Hospital for three days.

“[Three] days ako nag stay sa NEGH (New Era General Hospital) .

He also admitted that he felt some symptoms associated with COVID-19 before his testing.

Fortunately, Jon was cleared to go home after the new results came out on the evening of June 24, 2020 that he is negative for COVID-19.

He also lauded all the doctors, nurses and staff at the New Era General Hospital for their all hard work and sacrifices to serve amid this pandemic.
