Bianca Gonzalez opens up about stopping to breastfeed

Bianca Gonzalez pours out her emotions as she related how her second child, baby Carmen just stopped breastfeeding, ending this special journey for the celebrity host as a mother.

Bianca has dedicated her motherhood to breastfeeding her daughters, Lucia and Carmen.

Despite her firstborn naturally weaning from breastfeeding, Bianca was still not prepared when the same thing had happened with her younger child.

She opened up, “And just like that… my breastfeeding journey has officially ended. I didn't see it coming, especially at a time when we are all just at home, with me breastfeeding my daughter directly during every feed.

“I breastfed my firstborn Lucia for 2 years, until she weaned herself (which was also a very emotional time for me!!) and I really thought I would breastfeed Carmen for more than 2 years!!!! Until one day, a few weeks back, she just didn't. Want. To. Latch. Grabe 'yung heartbreak!!!!!!!! Any mother who decided to commit to breastfeeding knows how painful and heartbreaking it is when your child decides to wean on their own--I was definitely not emotionally and mentally prepared for it! Iniisip ko nga lang 'yung moment na 'yun, naiiyak an naman ako.”

Despite baby Carmen refusing to directly breastfeed from her, Bianca still makes sure to supply her with her breastmilk, but this time in a bottle. She also intends to vlog about her experience to help other breastfeeding moms.

She continued, saying, “I'm trying to pump to still give her breastmilk, but I know this won't last long. Haaaay. But still, I am very proud to have purely breastfed both my children. It was a DIFFICULT, PAINFUL, EXHAUSTING journey, but a most FULFILLING one as well.”

She also added, “I struggled with low milk supply for both daughters, but I was able to breastfeed for 2 years and for 1 year 9 months, as a working, latching, pumping-when-at-work mother. Thank you Lord for sustaining me!!!! It was so difficult but I am so glad I chose to breastfeed!

Bianca ended her post with words of encouragement for her fellow moms.

She wrote, “To the #breastfeedingmom reading this--mahirap, sobra, pero if you really decide you want to do it, exclusively and purely breastfeed, with the right mindset, patience, perseverance, support system, KAYA MO TO. Kayang kaya mo!!!! I am cheering for you!!!!”
