Camille Prats shares the value of practicing good hygiene especially at home

By Jansen Ramos

Celebrity and influencer mom Camille Prats-Yambao sees the pandemic as an advantage to fulfill her mommy duties.

For her, work from home is the perfect setup because she gets to continue working while looking after her children - Nathan, Nala, and Nolan - especially now that they are pretty active.

And by that, it means ensuring that they are fresh and and smelling good and, at the same time, protected from any unwanted odors that come with their daily adventures.

As a hands-on mom, Camille shared that she personally chooses the hygiene products for her kids.

"Specifically, I choose what they really use. Ako talaga 'yung namimili ng mga bagay na ginagamit namin sa house.

"I'm not picky with what's in it pero, syempre, I'm aware naman kung ano 'yung mga harmful ingredients we don't want in our products especially for our children.

"And we are also aware, thanks to Google and internet, kung ano naman 'yung mga products that are very safe to use for our kids," Camille told GMANetwork.com in an exclusive Zoom interview yesterday, September 28.

According to Camille, it's important to test the product first to check if it could cause allergic inflammation. If skin rashes occur, then it's an obvious sign to look for a milder product.

She eagerly shared, "I choose products na alam kong okay sa skin nila.

"Always naman it's trial and error, e, siyempre magte-test ka muna kapag bago 'yung product and then if you see naman na it's working well, there's nothing to be worried about."

She continued, "'Pag first time talaga naming ginagamit, binabantayan ko 'yung reaction sa skin nila just to be safe."

Aside from the formula, what Camille looks for in a hygiene product is that it must be comfortable to wear, making her children feel presko-bango amid playing indoors.

She said, "I like when they smell good at saka 'yung malambot sa skin, hindi drying 'yung skin nila para comfortable also, at the same time, not too much moisture din.

"I just want them to feel good everyday kahit sweaty sila, kahit napapagod sila just to get rid of that irritability on the side when they're parang sobrang pawis na."

Frequent hand washing

Camille likewise emphasized the importance of teaching kids frequent hand washing at home to strengthen their immunity especially during this time of pandemic.

She proudly shared, "It's nice that my kids have learned to really wash their hands every time they come back to the house after playing outside. Parang sila mismo they know na. 'Yung bunso ko knows how to disinfect his hands, he's only one.

"They are very young and they know these things kasi ito na talaga ang new normal natin and I really believe that hygiene plays a big role in keeping our immune systems na sobrang taas at sobrang okay."

Camille further explained, "Kasi if we don't start with that, if we don't really teach our children to practice good hygiene then that's going to be a problem eventually when they get older.

"So dapat talaga 'yon sa house pa lang we really make it a point na it's a routine or it's something na we used to doing, parte na ng day nila na hindi na nila makalimutan gawin."
