Sheena Halili admits having anxiety and crying spells during pregnancy

By Marah Ruiz

Kapuso actress Sheena Halili shared her experiences during the second trimester of her pregnancy through a new vlog.

She happily reported that she has entered the "happy stage" of her pregnancy.

For Sheena, the "happy stage" came during the fourth month of her pregnancy.

Hindi pwede magluto [before] but this time, nakakapagluto na rin po ako.

But before all of this, Sheena admitted that she had bouts of anxiety.

She explained that she would suddenly wake up at night startled or feeling that she couldn't breathe.

"'Yun, hindi ko nako-control 'yun. Ilang gabi akong ganoon. Ini-ignore ko lang," she admitted.

She also had unexplained crying spells and had to be supervised even while taking a bath because she developed a fear of being alone.

Her husband Jeron Manzanero finally encouraged her to talk to her gynecologist about what she is experiencing.

"Hindi ko naisip 'yun eh. Feeling ko personal issue siya," she said of her mental health.

Her gynecologist then recommended her to seek help from a psychiatrist.

"'Yung iba kasi iniisip nila, 'Ano ba 'yan? Psychiatrist.' 'Pag ganoon parang feeling nila baliw ka 'di ba or kung ano man. Hindi eh. Kailangan akong i-align ng isang expert," Sheena says.

The psychiatrist them confirmed that Sheena was feeling anxiety due to many factors, including the ongoing pandemic.
