Kris Aquino on why she sleeps with her pearls on
Queen of All Media Kris Aquino believes in the power of pearls; that's why she sleeps with them and rarely takes them off.
On Instagram, Kris revealed a short story on how she got into the practice when she posted herself with her youngest son, Bimby.
She said, “Bimb's Kuya [Joshua] is really loving life in Tarlac. I understand 100% because his Lola Cory would always bring him with her whenever she'd go to check on the Aquino Center, so for him, being there now gives him a sense of both freedom and security.
“I chose to post this picture from this morning because literally and figuratively, my bunso [Bimby] is my pillar of strength. He knew yesterday was tough, I fell asleep before he did, pero pag gising ko, my tiny hand was being held under his very big one.”
Kris also noted, “Bago kayo sobrang ma-weird why naka pearls ako with my oversized men's white shirt na pantulog ko -- I read that pearls help balance hormonal fluctuations and they ease stress and anxiety. They are supposed to enrich a person's spiritual life and help in creating a caring and harmonious atmosphere at home or in the workplace.
“Pearls are also supposed to help love and prosperity surround the wearer.”
So yes, the TV host and personality does sleep with her pearls on to help heal herself and not for vanity purposes, as some would tend to think.
She added, “There was a time several weeks ago na masama talaga ang pakiramdam ko, and I read up on all the gems that could heal me. Naloka na 'yung staff staying with us kasi ang feeling daw nila nire-ready ako mag-attend ulit ng wedding sa Crazy Rich Asians -- kahit na grabe 'yung fatigue, body aches, and chronic urticaria attack ko that time.
“Natawa na lang din ako nung sinabi ni Bimb na, 'Mama, I hope you do realize that jewelry isn't medicine?'”
This isn't the first time Bimby joked about his mother's penchant for jewelry and the healing power of gems in public.
Back in October, Kris Aquino's two sons were seen inside her room to give her a gift pack, to which the former asked to sterilize it using a ref-like gadget sent to her by her sister Viel Aquino Dee.
In the short video, Kris also showcased her box full of accessories filled with bracelets, necklaces, and earrings.
At this point, Bimby quipped, “You look like a gangster!”
Kris said, “The explanation for this is that lahat ito may healing power.
“It's that time of the month, so 'pag nagpe-pearls daw it helps with the hormonal imbalances, and then, I'm wearing jade because it's all-around protection and for your body's immunity.”
She then noted, “Please don't believe me, kasi nagpapauto lang naman ako sa lahat ng librong nababasa ko.”
