Rhian Ramos shares inspiration behind healthy food business

By Bong Godinez

Rhian Ramos knows firsthand the agony of scouring for healthy food options at ungodly hours during the day.

The Kapuso actress lamented the limited, and predominantly fast food, options every time she would get hungry late at night.

To solve this dilemma, Rhian recently launched a 24-hour virtual restaurant named Healthy Appetite.

The delivery-only food venture offers a variety of delicious healthy options including plant-based meals to cater to different dietary needs.

“I noticed na I was having a hard time looking for healthy food options lalo na 'pag medyo weird hours. Lalo na 'pag hatinggabi, wala na talagang darating sa 'yo na healthy,” Rhian told Rise Up Stronger: NCAA Season 96 hosts Sophia Senoron and Martin Javier.

“But we still get hungry 24 hours a day, so I just decided to work on this [Healthy Appetite].

“We have so many different options. 'Yong carb namin is always complex with adlai or quinoa or cauli rice and may mga ulam-ulam din na style.”

The decision to make it a 24-hour delivery service makes it easily accessible to customers.

Rhian is not following any diet trends at the moment but makes sure to watch what she eats to stay healthy.

“Dati I tried keto [deit] pero 'yong nangyari sa akin, after three months I started feeling deprived. 'Kahit prutas 'di puwede?' Alam mo 'yon? Na-sad ako,” said Rhian.

“I think it's all about balance and sustainability. You treat yourself and then you also give what your body needs.”

On top of that, Rhian works out regularly to keep her fit and shed unwanted pounds.

She generously shared a 15-minute workout routine suited for busy people who don't have enough time to exercise for hours.

“These steps are easy to do. Kunwari pagkagising n'yo sa umaga and if you're the busy type, huwag na kayo magbihis, huwag na kayo mag-gym clothes,” advised Rhian.

“Puwede kung ano lang 'yong pantulog n'yo gawin n'yo na 'to and you don't need a lot of space also for it.”

Let Rhian show you how to do a quick exercise you can do at home in this video:
