Kevin Louie Alas's wife Selina is now cancer-free!

NLEX Road Warriors guard Kevin Louie Alas can breathe a sigh of relief. After some difficult months, his wife Selina Dagdag is now cancer-free.

According to reports, the sportscaster was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer called "gestational trophoblastic neoplasia."

The Alas couple took to their respective Instagram accounts to share their thoughts about their journey.

Kevin stated that he was glad to accompany Selina to church last July 10, since she last went three months ago.

He wrote on Instagram, “It's been 3 months since she last went to church. It's such a blessing and a means of grace to be back in church.

He added, “3 months of testing and strengthening of faith. The Lord is indeed faithful in our lives.”

The former Letran Knights superstar also thanked everyone for their immense support and encouragement during his wife's battle against cancer.

The PBA cager shared, “There were times of discouragement, but God always is right on time to send encouragement, through His word, Sunday preaching, through brothers and sisters from the church, Selina's family, my family, and even my Gilas, NLEX, and PBA family. Even our Doctor always encourages Selina.”

“A lot of prayers were answered along the way. Like prayers for Selina's body to respond well to the chemotherapy, for favorable labworks, for the subsiding of issues that delayed her treatment, and many more. Most recent answered prayer is Selina being cancer-free!!!” he said. “We praise and glorify the Lord for His love and faithfulness in our lives.”

Meanwhile, Selina also extended her gratitude to her doctor, Dra. Mel De Quiros, for being there with them in every step of her healing process.

She recalled, “We can't find the words to express just how grateful we are to our doctor. Her kindness and friendship made our trying ordeal much easier. Even our little chats during my chemo sessions meant a lot to us, and it brought joy to what would've been such bleak trips to MMC.”

Selina continued, “We are so grateful we met you, Dra. Mel De Quiros! You have been one of God's greatest blessings in our lives, and we continue to thank God for you in our daily prayers.

“To all the doctors and would-be doctors out there, you are God's wonderful gifts to this world! Thank you for all the years you put in studying and sacrificing countless leisure's to become instruments of our God's healing.”

Many celebrities and sports personalities were ecstatic after hearing the news of Selina's recovery including Kapuso news reporter Mav Gonzales, Eat Bulaga host Pauleen Luna, Sparkle talent John Vic de Guzman, to name a few.

Kevin and Selina tied the knot in a civil wedding ceremony in September 2020.
