Rica Peralejo related her painful story about her miscarriage that happened this year.

In her vlog titled "I Was Positive," the former actress shared how she knew that she was pregnant and how she lost her baby.

Rica is married to Christian pastor Joseph Bonifacio. They have two children namely Philip, born in 2014; and Manu, born in June 2019.

“The announcement is I was positive. Positive not for COVID thankfully and the other good news is that I was positive for pregnancy. So, yehey happy! Good news”

“But the bad news there is I was positive that means I'm no longer am.” Rica on the loss of her baby.

She then continued, “I only really decided to share it because I find it when, you know, I share my vulnerabilities and my struggles to my viewers, nakaka-relate kayo sa akin. Somehow siguro, meron siyang effect na parang kapag nakikinig din ako ng iba, it makes me feel a little less alone.”

This year has been a difficult one for Rica's family, because prior to her miscarriage, she lost her sister.

According to her, “2022 has been quite a year for me, because this is not exactly the first pain of the year. This is also the year that I lost my eldest sister that I'm very-very close to. She died in April [2022].

The former T.G.I.S. star, who is now 41, found out that she was pregnant before Father's Day.

She recalled, “So, a little before Father's Day, I found that I was pregnant. This one is quite different because I'm already 41, so when I miss my period, sabi ko, 'Hala! Nag-start na ako ng premenopausal symptoms'”

“Just the fact that I took a pregnancy test and nag-negative siya. But something in me made me want to check after about a week yata. And I did another pregnancy test and ayun na! Nag-positive na siya.”

Rica admitted that she couldn't believe when she found out she was pregnant.

“I was in disbelief," she said. "Ito siguro 'yung first time na hindi kami nagta-try, pero mero'n nakalusot. In fact, prior to this accident, my husband and I were talking about the different options of not getting pregnant anymore.”

“Kasi, we were feeling na nga like the age, also you know, when you see a lot of things you couldn't see before when you were younger like: how to be there for your children in your old age and all that.

“Parang sabi namin, baka ito na nga yun. 'Tsaka tinatanggap na rin namin sa puso namin baka naman God just really has two kids for us and were very happy already na parang, 'Lord, thank you, na nakadalawa pa kami.' So, medyo surprise talaga yun.”

Wary of her pregnancy

She also took some extra precaution and had to reduce her physical activities after finding out about her condition and made sure to keep it a secret for everyone--especially for those who follow her online.

The celebrity mom explained, “When I saw the pregnancy tester turned positive, I immediately messaged my OB to say that, 'Doc I think I'm pregnant,'

“Hindi ko maintindihan 'yung feelings ko kasi sabay-sabay siyang nangyayari sa akin. One is I'm at the height of my physical fitness I've never been this physically fit in my entire life. And all of a sudden I had to restrain myself for my physical activities.

“I didn't know if you notice but I would post like old stuff, but you know, I wouldn't say so people don't notice online na something is up. Kasi pagka nag-stop ako, mag-post ng ganun they would already know and I didn't want that thing in my head.”

“I was already very wary about it is because--kung hindi pa po niya alam ang story ko, it is in my past vlogs as well--I already miscarried twice prior to this.”
